The world's longest suspended rollercoaster, Jubilee Odyssey, has opened at Fantasy Island, near Skegness, to mark the Queen's Golden Jubilee. Among the first to try it out, was Nottingham Evening Post reporter Stevie Roden...
As we climbed to the peak of the 200ft ride I glanced down... and wondered why on earth I had volunteered to try out the latest Ingoldmells tourist attraction.
Hundreds of caravans beneath me turned to match-boxes. People almost disappeared. Suddenly, taking a dip in the cold and murky North Sea seemed a pleasanter option.

This is Europe's steepest suspended roller coaster ride and suddenly I had lost my bottle. But it was too late.
I took a deep breath as we plummeted earthwards before being thrown into a vicious loop-the-loop, just moments before we would have hit the ground.
As we hurtled round the next corner the G-force clamped me to my seat and I prayed for the end. But this was far from over.
This is not only Europe's steepest suspended roller coaster, but it is also the world's longest.
As we shot round the track, reaching speeds of up to 100 miles an hour, I had no time to think... except how to stop myself from throwing up.
My hands became clammy and my arms ached as I grasped the safety harness for dear life.
There was a point when I was actually enjoying the experience, as we careered round the first five out of six inversions - points where passengers are travelling upside down or at right angles.
But that euphoria came to an abrupt end as we hit the final inversion, twisting through 360 degrees as we made our way up and down a right angled loop-the-loop.
My face must have looked ashen, my legs felt numb and my head was in a spin as the brakes finally engaged, easing the ride to a smooth stop. I was just pleased to have made it through only the roller-coaster's second journey, following in the steps of royalty.
