The Lincolnshire Echo has teamed up with a teacher training college to launch an essay-writing competition for people on A-level or access courses in English Literature.
It is open to students from across Lincolnshire and its neighbouring counties and winning entries will be published in the paper.
The idea is to generate interest for English Literature, a subject in which there are few chances for talent to be recognised.
Essays can be anything from 1,500 to 2,000 words long and book tokens are on offer for the winners.
