The search is on to find the best new writing from the Westcountry.
The Western Morning News has teamed up with one of the region's best-known publishing houses for the task.
The reward for successful talent will be an award - and a book deal for the new novel, including a £1,000 advance on the royalties.
The newspaper, along with Halsgrove of Tiverton, will revive the Peninsula Prize, an annual award for the author who produces the best unpublished novel with a Westcountry theme.
The first award was handed out in 1987 but the original contest lasted only three years.
Entry forms and full details of the competition can be obtained from Halsgrove on 01884 243242.
