Becky Gunn has been appointed chief reporter at the Skegness Standard.
Essex girl Becky (23) moved to the Lincolnshire coast as a girl and earned a languages degree at Lancaster University before returning to Skegness to follow a career in journalism.


Fourteen Teesside charities have received a total £12,500 from the Evening Gazette.
The money was handed out at the annual Gazette Charities Awards 2002 as proceeds from a fundraising campaign sponsored by 12 businesses.


A 14-year-old paper boy has been told he is too young to force his bosses to give him holiday pay.

Edward Des Clayes of Sawbridgeworth, Herts, told an employment tribunal that he was entitled to holiday pay under the Working Time Regulations, pointing out that the law does not state a minimum age limit, after the issue was raised on the BBC's Short Change programme. But the tribunal said that Edward needed to be at least 15 to be covered by the regulations.


The Oxford Mail hosted a visit by executive members of the county council, when six decision-makers saw how the paper is put together.
The visitors, who normally find their names in print, spent a day at the Osney Mead headquarters.


An animal welfare group is hoping to re-home Echo the cat, rescued from derelict buildings next to the Linconshire Echo offices.
Echo and her kitten were saved by the Cats Protection League.
