Cancer claims former Post journalist

Former Nottingham Evening Post journalist Marian Bryson has died after losing her battle against cancer. She was 69.

Her husband, the Post's former drama critic Emrys Bryson, was with her when she died.

Marian started her journalism career as a reporter with the Lincolnshire Echo, before moving to the Nottingham Guardian and Evening Post in the 1950s.

When she retired 10 years ago she was a senior reporter covering Nottingham Crown Court.

She leaves a son Paul, two daughters Kate and Victoria, and granddaughter Lois.

Her funeral was held at Bramcote Crematorium.
