Nottingham Evening Post readers were treated to a four-page pull-out commemorating the life of Dudley Moore yesterday.
It wasn't because the self-styled "sex-thimble" had any particular connection with the city or county - it was all down to a printing challenge set by the Northcliffe presses at Derby.
Printing problems with The Sun, which is also printed and distributed from the Derby press, meant the Post was in danger of failing to be published at all.
But a decision was made to go ahead within the constraints of the technical difficulty, which meant the Post had to be printed to the same configuration as The Sun.
That in turn meant a four-page centre pull-out was needed, and thankfully cuddly Dudley obliged.
