Head of features, Sally King, is to lead the editorial pack of runners from the Evening Echo in south Essex as they embark on Tesco's Race for Life 2002.

The team, which hopes to notch up top sponsorship figures for cancer research, also include features reporter Kate Eshmeade. And the 5km walk or jog for cancer will also include Sally's daughters, aged eight and 15.

Echo Woman, an Echo supplement, is a media partner in the event and will be giving it prominent editorial coverage.

The Echo Woman's logo will also feature in publicity material.
