New editor in the Matlock hot seat

A new editor has taken the hot seat at the Matlock Mercury following the departure of Don Hale last August.

Amanda Hatfield took up the post of group editor of the Matlock Mercury and Buxton Advertiser last Monday. She will also be responsible for The Peak Times free newspaper series.

Before taking up the in-company promotion at the Mercury, Amanda was previously editor of the Johnston-owned Diss Express in Norfolk for 10 years.

She has also worked at the Bury Free Press and East Anglian Daily Times.

Amanda said: "I'll obviously miss the Express as I was there a long time but I'm looking forward to the new challenge that this new job presents. So far it has been great."
