Pub outlet for Telegraph

An owner of a village pub in Lincolnshire can now sell you more than a pint or a glass of wine.

David Wilson, of the Station Hotel, Habrough, has been offering customers a chance to buy a copy of the Grimsby Telegraph since the village shop and post office closed down.

After a week of running with the idea, it is proving popular and sales are increasing daily.

Mr Wilson said: "They are not selling badly at all. The post office and the shop in the village closed down, since then nobody has actually been able to buy the Telegraph, although there is a delivery service. I was asked if I would like to sell them, and I agreed. I mean pubs sell all sorts of things now, not just the usual booze."

  • The Station Hotel was named the Grimsby Telegraph's Entertainment Venue of the year.
