Manchester Online has opened up a new travel channel for people who want to fly out of the city's own airport.
It is all part of the Internet portal's aim to provide users with a comprehensive overview of what's happening in their area.
The new channel launched with introductory offers and cut-price fares - and because they all depart from Manchester, it means there is no need for users to check through flights to other destinations.
Early bookers were offered, for a limited period, a competition to win a trip to New York. Entrants had to log on at www.manchesteronline.co.uk, answer three simple questions and register their details to be in with a chance of winning.
On election night, through links with journalists in the field, Manchester Online's team of journalists posted minute-by-minute information. The dedicated site included graphs analysing results as they came in and a map highlighting key seats, any significant swings and the results.Back to the online index
