Bee bug bites Sue Walker

  • Dropping in…
  • Community publishing manager Sue Walker scaled new heights by descending the YMCA building in Stoke-on-Trent, for charity.

Sue runs the Beehive community Internet network from the Sentinel offices in the city and took the plunge - attached to an abseil rope - to raise money for MGA, which supports people with the muscle-weakening disease Myasthenia Gravis and their families.

She took part in the stunt dressed in the yellow-and-black "bee" gear, complete with antennae along with her friend Vanda Wood for moral support.

She said: "I was up there for nearly half an hour - literally hanging around for photographers, which was a bit nerve-wracking.

"But I've definitely got the bug now - next year we are going to do a parachute jump."

The publicity in the Sentinel, headlined Sue Goes Over The Top helped her achieve record weekly page impressions for the Staffordshire Beehive.
