Standard online is "Bostonnow"

The Boston Standard's website, launched only a few months ago, has undergone a revamp to boost its appeal to the worldwide audience.

The Lincolnshire newspaper's original website was to transmit news and sports stories to people in Boston, its surrounding villages, and people around the world with an interest in the area.

But the company decided that an increasingly sophisticated audience brought the need for a more sophisticated approach.

The result is Bostonnow.co.uk - still the Boston Standard online, but with a shift in focus from news and towards community.

Welland Valley Newspapers' Internet manager Karen Groves said: "We have incorporated the most successful features of the old site with exciting new ideas and technologies to bring an innovative new site.

"We hope that Bostonnow.co.uk, with its increased content, cleaner design, improved navigation, greater level of interaction, and more advertising opportunities will be of great interest to readers and business alike.

"Over the next few months you can expect to see new and exciting features, making this site the ultimate place to visit.

"We hope that by working with our readers and advertisers we can build a one-stop community site where users can both share and obtain information on a whole range of topics."

Welland Valley Newspapers, Ltd, is part of Johnston Press Plc.
