Berkshire nets holiday offer

A new Internet holiday service has been launched by Surrey and Berkshire Newspapers as an extension to the service offered in the Reading Evening Post.

Readers are invited to browse through the holidays available and make online requests for brochures or for further information.

The system is set up so that brochure requests and bookings can be traced back to their original line of enquiry, so it is possible to see the success of the new Reader Travelshop web page.

Although the online enquiries are still in their infancy, the numbers are growing week on week.

Claire Brunt, of the Surrey & Berkshire Newspapers new media team, said: "The in-paper advertising of our Reader Travelshop encourages readers to use the website to get further information on the services offered.

"With general enquiries on the travel service and requests for brochures coming from as far afield as Newcastle, Plymouth and Camarthenshire - the company believes there is great potential in online reader travel services."
