The students' website has also received praise from the Daily Telegraph's student section Juiced, under the heading "Students produce good website - shocker".
It said the community of students on the professional writing course atFalmouth College of Arts had pulled off that rarest of journo tricks: a well-written, frequently updated webzine.
The paper said Hackwriters.com may seem like a well-kept secret, but the site has been winning national media awards since 1999.
Reviewing the election edition, which also tackled the role of religion in today's society, it added: "Don't talk about religion or politics? These crazy guys have done both in one well-presented package."
The site is currently running a summer fiction issue and has a feast of writing available.
There is also an interview with Arnold Newman the famous and ancient New York photographer, a piece on French Cinema Now and a wealth of other material.
