See Star production onthe Net

Internet users can see the Shropshire Star putting its post-election edition to bed in the early hours of Friday morning.

Video footage of the reporting and production team getting the paper out in time for people to buy one on their way to work will be one of the election night highlights at www.shropshirestar.com/election.

The Internet team will be working through the night to post local and General Election results as soon as they are declared.

And there will be a video camera trained on the workers throughout the night.

Internet editor Mark Waugh said: "We're planning to bring you video footage of Friday's early print election special edition of the Shropshire Star as it's being put together.

"People will be able to see the reporters, news editors and sub editors hard at work, as well as the presses rolling in the early hours of the morning as they print an edition for readers to pick up on the way to work.

"It's going to be a fascinating night..."

The Star's current Internet election coverage includes comment from the paper's leading writers, a round-up of the parties' positions on major issues and profiles of the parliamentary candidates.
