Electronic election for the Argus

The South Wales Argus has taken the General Election campaign online.

The paper's recently-launched thisisgwent website has a special election section featuring full details of the six constituencies in the Argus circulation area, candidate profiles and results from previous Westminster and Welsh Assembly elections.

Two online opinion polls are also running on the site: one aims to determine the issues that really matter to Gwent voters, the other is a straightforward "who will you vote for?" poll which will stay open until June 7.

The website is to play a key role in the Argus' election night coverage.

Staff will be working through the night to produce a 6am election edition ofThe Argus on Friday June 8 - and the website will be updated as local results come in.
