There's a real-life Tractor Boy to lead the crowds supporting Ipswich Town.

Well almost…

The eight-foot Tractor Boy mascot provided by the Ipswich Star is about to follow the team around Europe as the football team pursues its UEFA Cup adventure.

He is already mobbed wherever he goes and has been raising the profile of the paper at a number of events - not just football matches.

Editor Nigel Pickover said: "He made his debut at the first home match and was mobbed.

"We latched onto Tractor Boy the moment the name was coined last year and we've been running stories and features with our Tractor Boy logo.

"We ran with it from the word go and have T-shirts and mugs for people to buy!"

One of the events that Tractor Boy has been seen at was the recent meeting of the Ipswich Witches speedway team (above), where he mingled with the crowds for a good night out.
