Staff at Taunton Newspapers in Somerset are feeling justifiably proud after beating their colleagues on sister titles in a charity raft race on thehistoric moat surrounding the Bishops Palace in Wells.

The all-women team of four - led by MD Lorraine Berry - cruised into first place to win the media challenge.

They left opponents from Mid Somerset Newspapers and Clevedon Newspapers floundering in their wake in third and fourth places while a crewfrom HTV took second spot.

The Taunton team was recruited from the advertising department - their colleagues in editorial gracefully declined the challenge on Bank Holiday Monday… as they had to go into work!
