Evening News targets 10,000

Ten thousand information cards are being handed out to young revellers in Norwich to help get them home safely.

The Evening News has produced the wallet-friendly leaflets to publicise the city's SOS Bus.

In less than two months it has helped around 100 youngsters get home after they found themselves having trouble getting home safely after a night on the town.

Project co-ordinator PC Colin Lang said the idea was to highlight the bus and its emergency phone number.

He said: "People will be able to find out exactly where we are with the map if they or their friends get into trouble."

He added that the search was on for more funding to keep the project going.
