Hooked on Herald special

Readers of the Tamworth Herald are well known for taking their favourite newspaper around the world.

They send in a photo of themselves in front of a world-famous landmark or street scene overseas in a bid to win the paper's competition to win a trip to Disneyland Paris.

But one family, determined not to be outdone, took their Tamworth Herald on a world tour of five different countries on one trip - and sent a photo of each one, which the paper dutifully published.

John and Anne Goodwin took the paper on an exciting tour which took in Australia, New Zealand, New York, Singapore and Bali.

They found themselves the subject of a Hooked on Herald special and featured in a full-page article.

It's not the first time the paper has had a surprising response to its offbeat contest.
