Demonstration follows Post investigation

A newspaper expose of a massage parlour in the centre of Bristol has resulted in a community protest demanding its closure.

The demonstration followed an investigation in the Evening Post into the Ranch Club, which operated within yards of a primary school.

Undercover reporter Chris Maguire found the premises selling sexual services 24 hours a day after opening in August without planning permission.

Passers-by at the protest were urged to give £40 to the school and not to the club.

And the protests appeared to have paid off - with Bristol City Council promising to take action to force the owners to close down.

The local vicar, Richard McKay, said: "This is not a moral crusade. It is about the location and the need to protect children from the sex industry."
