Residents on the Isle of Wight now have their own special edition of the Southern Daily Echo.

The move came after calls from residents on the island asking for increased coverage of their own events in the paper.

Readers on the island will have something special to celebrate every Thursday.

It is a special edition packed with news from the Isle of Wight, as well as a free weekend TV magazine, a own property special as well as hundreds of jobs in a recruitment supplement.

The Southern Daily Echo already has a regular following on the Island and reports on events, news and features.

The paper is hoping the increased coverage on Thursday will complement the coverage already running throughout the rest of the week.
