The Oxford Mail is to sponsor the home stand at Oxford United's new £15m stadium in a five-year deal.
The Oxford Mail Stand, behind the goal at the eastern end of the ground,will have seating for more than 2,800 supporters and space for 20wheelchair-users.
The paper is the first business to sponsor one of the three stands at the12,500-seater Kassam Stadium, which is due to be finished on July 27.
James McClure, editor of the Oxford Mail, said: "Every town and city finds distinction in its local football team and its local daily newspaper, making it only right and proper that the Oxford Mail should be doing all it can to further the interests of Oxford United and their fans."
The chairman of the football club, Firoz Kassam, said: "We are delighted to have our first major sponsorship deal for the new stadium - particularly asit is with the Oxford Mail. I'm sure the association will benefit us both."
Shamus Donald, managing director of Newsquest Oxfordshire, said: "Tosucceed you need vision and ambition. Oxford United has both and the Oxford Mail is delighted to support the club."
