Echo helps charities get online

Charities and non-profit-making organisations are being offered the chance to set up websites for free thanks to the Northern Echo.

The Newsquest-owned newspaper has launched CommuniGate which can be accessed through www.thisisthenortheast.co.uk

Groups can create up to ten news and information pages with pictures and can update or amend them whenever they want. They do not need special web writing skills, and one-to-one help for complete beginners is provided by CommuniGate web editor Alison Nicholson.

From today you can visit the site at www.communigate.co.uk/ne/
