Wolverhampton heading for the million

A Midlands newspaper web site has passed a new landmark with more than three-quarters of a million pages viewed in July.

Traffic logs for the Express & Star's web site Westmidlands.com show a total 805,790 page views, with 158,469 unique visitors.

Head of internet development Aidan Goldstraw said: "These figures are tremendous, and suggest we're going to reach the magicmillion even sooner than we expected."

The site carries a selection of news, sport, features and ads from the Express & Star six days a week, as well as exclusive web-only content.

It has just launched a new Saturday football special, The Pink, which updates with reporters' copy live from the grounds as each match progresses.
