Babyworld celebrates success

Former Leicester Mercury journalist Jennifer Burt was thrilled to be shortlisted in the first European Online Journalism Awards.

Jennifer, who left her job as health correspondent to become editor of www.babyworld.co.uk was delighted to discover that an online interview she did with TV personality Carol Smillie was one of only three submissions shortlisted in the entertainment category.

Although her entry was pipped by an item from Finland, Jennifer was thrilled to be a finalist in the first awards she had entered since joining babyworld.co.uk in November 1999.

Nearly 300 European journalists and media organisations entered the competition - run for the first time this year.

The awards were presented on the opening night of the NetMedia 2000 conference at London's City University.
