A skateboarding dog tale

The story of the vanishing skateboarding dog has captured the imagination of readers in the South West.

The animal's owners were left heartbroken when Thai, who commands fees on the show circuit for his fearless skateboard tricks, was taken from a camper van at Exeter university.

But he's been reunited with his frantic owner following an appeal in the Exeter Express and Echo.

Sightings were reported thick and fast after the appeal.

And he was eventually returned after his owner was contacted by a girl who had bought the dog off a man in a pub.

Relieved Darren Munday said: "I would like to say a big thank you to the Echo and everyone in Exeter.

"My mobile phone started ringing immediately with people saying they had seen him around."

Police are still investigating the circumstances of the dog's disappearance.
