Answering questions,not asking them

The brains behind the Brentwood Gazette battled it out with 17 other teams at the town mayor's annual charity night quiz.

The team finished an impressive fourth and might have slipped into anonymity if they hadn't published a story about themselves in the Essex weekly.

Not content with that, they were so thrilled about almost clinching a podium place that they decided to print a photo of the team posing with the mayor.

For the record, the Gazette team that helped raise an impressive £1,300 on the night were editorial assistant Dorothy Givan, editorial secretary Judi Duffy, reporter Michael Coventry, editor Roger Watkins, reporter Mark Fenn, features editor Josie Stephenson, Essex Chronicle chief reporter Peter Baker, reporter Ben Ball and deputy news editor Andrew Belford.
