The lipstick's for my work - honest!

Lipstick and magic - it's all in a day’s work for trainee reporter David Higgerson.

When newsdesk at the Lancashire Evening Telegraph wanted a new spin on the Harry Potter mania stories, they turned to David for help.

During a brain-storming session, one member of staff quipped that 20-year-old David was a dead ringer for the eponymous hero of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

So they sent David, who has been at the paper for three months, to an Accrington primary school to get pupils' reaction the new book by JK Rowling.

And while there, David immersed himself in the role and used a teacher's lipstick to paint a lighting mark on his forehead so that he could look even more like the teen wizard.

"It was all a bit of fun really, a light-hearted spin to the story. All the kids at the school said that I looked like Harry Potter," said David.

"Newsdesk was a bit surprised when they saw the photo."
