Visitors to the Chronicle and Echo's headquarters in Northampton will be able to surf the internet when the reception area reopens after a major facelift.
Work on transforming the entrance at Upper Mounts began on January 28 and will take six weeks. The new-look reception will include a new media centre, where, for a nominal charge, visitors will be able to access the paper's website, surf the internet and send e-mails.
Managing director Peter Walker said: "The new media centre will become a meeting place for members of the public and all our customers will enjoy a more efficient and friendly reception area."
The Chronicle and Echo has a circulation of 28,000 and new ABC figures will show an increase for the second half of last year.
It moved from the town's Market Square in 1977. The Upper Mounts complex houses about 160 staff working on the paper and a free weekly and two magazines.
