Journalism graduates plan 35th anniversary party

Graduates of a university journalism course are organising a 35-year reunion and would like other alumni to get in touch.

Students who studied the 1974/75 pre-entry journalism course at Preston Polytechnic, now called the University of Central Lancashire, are invited to the get together which is planned for this summer.

The trio behind the event are former Birmingham Evening Mail journalist and now Sunday Express night editor Andy Hoban, Liverpool Daily Post editor Mark Thomas and Andrew Nott, a former journalist who now runs his own PR and publishing company Clear Publications in Warrington.

Other alumni of the course include Tony Kelly, a columnist and writer with York daily The Press, News of the World associate editor (politics) David Wooding, Sue Crawford, news editor with Carlisle daily the News and Star, her former colleague David Gudgeon who is now retired and Devon County Council communications chief Peter Doyle.

Exact details are yet to be confirmed but it is hoped that the reunion will be held in Preston in June and will involve one overnight stay.

Anyone who would like more information and to attend the reunion can contact Andrew Nott on andy@clearpublications.co.uk.
