Kevin Feddy is the new business editor at the Manchester Evening News.

The 46-year-old has been with the title for 19 years and is stepping up from the role of deputy business editor which he has performed for almost three years.

Editor Paul Horrocks said: "Kevin has made this job his own, and I am confident his knowledge of the business community will keep us ahead of the game."

The National Union of Journalists is urging journalists to attend a lobby of Parliament on Wednesday

The union is briefing MPs about regional journalism at 2pm and it wants individual journalists to attend and speak to their own MP afterwards.
