Former Lancashire Evening Telegraph and Fleet Street journalist Craig Orr has died aged 71.
Craig was born near Aberdeen and, after leaving the city's university, went on to hold senior positions with major national newspaper publishers.
He started his journalism career with the Blackburn-based Evening Telegraph and was part of a team which covered the Accrington area, including the famous football team Accrington Stanley.
In the early 1960s he embarked on a Fleet Street career which took in stints at the Guardian and London Evening News where he worked for over a decade as assistant editor and sports editor.
After it closed down in 1980, Craig joined the Daily Express with which he left the capital to look after the Scottish editions in its Manchester office.
This was followed by job with the Mail on Sunday's 'You' magazine as commissioning editor and then a switch to the Evening Standard as managing editor.
Craig is survived by his wife Victoria Summerley and two children from his first marriage, Gavin and Kirsten.
