New name for Media Wales news websites

The digital arm of Trinity Mirror's south-Wales newspapers has a new name.

WalesOnline.co.uk is the new one-stop shop for news from Cardiff-based dailies the Western Mail and South Wales Echo as well as Wales on Sunday and Celtic Weekly Newspapers.

The newly-named site will continue to deliver Welsh news, sport, business, entertainment, what's on, jobs, motors and property.

The new name, which replaces icWales.co.uk, is designed to reflect TM's digital ambitions to offer a leading internet site for and about Wales, according to a company statement.

It added that icWales.co.uk was Wales' leading commercial website boasting 788,000 unique users per month.

Keith Dye, managing director of Media Wales, said: "This is a fantastic brand name which illustrates our commitment to deliver a first class website for our users and deliver growing audience numbers for our online advertisers."
