YouTube video help for journalism students

Journalism students can now get help with their exams at YouTube. The videos have been made by Cleland Thom, a law trainer and author of The How-to Media Law Manual.
They contain tips and advice on the media law, public administration, and news writing exams.


Reading Evening Post photographer David Bearne spent a tough day at the office when was forced to snap Page 3 models at a charity football match. The footballing fillies were taking part in the Soccer Six tournament at Reading FC's stadium. According to the Evening Post website, the few pictures he took of the main men's competition were "somewhat disappointing".


David Lewis, former chief executive of the Kent Messenger Group, has taken over as chairman of JPS Media. The company publishes the Kent and Sussex lifestyle magazine, Wealden Times and arts magazine Ink Pellet.
David has lived in Kent for 20 years, having started his career in publishing as a journalist and editor in the regional press. He became a director of Kentish Times Newspapers before joining Associated Newspapers as business development manager with the Evening Standard.


Regional newspaper publisher Clyde and Forth Press has teamed up with online recruitment service jobsite.co.uk. The companies are aiming to increase audience reach and job vacancy performance for both businesses.
Jobs advertised across Clyde and Forth's 21 Scottish titles will also be available on jobsite.co.uk and the extended Jobsite network. Together, the Jobsite network and Clyde and Forth partnership will provide advertisers with monthly access to 220,000 Scottish jobseekers.


Crewe Hall in Cheshire will be the venue for this year's Newspaper Society Advertising and Digital Media Awards on October 2. Meanwhile, its Weekly Newspaper Awards 2008 will be held at the Leeds Marriott Hotel, on November 27.
Both awards aim to showcase the best examples from across the local media industry. More details of both awards ceremonies will be available on the NS website over the coming months.
