Former Suffolk sub-editor denies murdering his wife

A former Suffolk sub-editor has denied murdering his wife.

Raymond Singh, (29), appeared before The High Court in Fiji's capital Suva charged with stabbing his wife Linda to death on May 11.

British national Mrs Singh, (39), is believed to have been found in pool of blood in the couple's home, in Suva.

Singh, who worked for the East Anglian Daily Times between October 2004 and January 2007, moved to Fiji with his wife, two children and 16-year-old stepson George last year so they could be closer to his family.

He has been remanded in custody by judges because of the seriousness of the crime and a bail review is scheduled for tomorrow. The trial is set to commence in January.

In the wake of Mrs Singh's death, an appeal fund was launched to help with the cost of bringing her body and George back to the UK.

Total costs are expected to be in the region of £12,000.
