Sales hike for Tigers' promotion special

Monday's Hull Daily Mail, which featured 42 pages of coverage of Hull City's Wembley triumph to reach football's Premier League, sold 10,000 more copies than on each of the two previous bank holiday Mondays.

Tuesday's sale was also up - by just over 4,000 on the average Tuesday.

Traffic to the website thisishullandeastriding rocketed over the two days compared to the previous week with page views over the two days of 413,000 - more than double the same days last week.

Video reports from Wembley and the "heroes' homecoming" have now been watched a total of 11,500 times.

The most popular one, watched 2,400 times, is video journalist Katy Wood's report on the Dean Windass goal and the celebrations that followed it.

Editor John Meehan said: "Like the Tigers, we've had a brilliant result - in print and on the web."
