newburybusinesstoday is the latest in a roll-out of websites from the Newbury Weekly News Group produced by its West Berkshire newsroom.

The emphasis is on "local", which means the website features business news updates throughout the working week, columns and advice by local and regional experts, stock market commentary, share prices and business networking opportunities.

To support its commercial community locally, the website also has an area devoted to West Berkshire's Business Action Group – a partnership of agencies which includes the police, local authority and Chamber of Commerce, together with individual businesses and retailers. The Action Group has funded its own police community support officer, one of the first in the country, who is entirely focused on the business community, and the website offers a valuable contact point between him and the local business community.

newburybusinesstoday has commercial areas well supported by advertisers, including a searchable trades and business services directory, featured business profiles and areas devoted to commercial property and vehicles.

The website runs alongside the publisher's established business publication in print – also named Newbury Business Today – which is distributed free with the Newbury Weekly News, each month.

The business website was launched to the business community with a champagne breakfast yesterday and was designed by Atomic Media, of Nottingham.
