The Evening Post in Nottingham was the focus of calls from media around the country after publishing its exclusive pictures and interview with the family of RAF serviceman Gary Thompson yesterday.
When the news of Senior Aircraftman Thompson's death broke on Tuesday, the Post changed its splash for final edition and broke the story online.
Reporter Guy Woodford went to interview the family.
As well as the full interview and family pictures, Guy was also given handwritten tributes to the airman from three of his daughters, for publication in the paper.
The exclusive story went live on the www.thisisnottingham.co.uk website at 7am on Wednesday, before the first edition of the paper hit the streets around three hours later.
During the course of the morning the Post fielded calls from national papers, agencies, television and radio stations asking for the pictures.
One broadcaster even asked for permission to film the final edition coming off the press in Derby.
After consulting with the family, a decision was taken to provide the pictures to PA at 11am.
