Newspaper business team hits the airwaves on new radio show

The business team at one of the north-west's biggest daily newspapers is branching out into radio broadcasting.

The quintet of reporters from the Liverpool Daily Post's business desk will be presenting on the city's new 24-hour talk station city talk 105.9.

The team, led by Post business editor Bill Gleeson, will produce and present an hour-long show called LDP Business Week, starting this Sunday morning.

It will feature news and analysis, studio interviews and debates involving key members of the Liverpool business community.

This latest move comes ahead of the launch of new magazine LDP Business which is due to hit the streets next month.

Bill said: "With European Capital of Culture year and the regeneration of Liverpool, these are exciting times for the business community in our city region.

"We believe the LDP Business Week programme will become essential listening for everyone in Merseyside with an interest in business in the same way that our print and online coverage is already essential reading."

    The Post's former city editor Larry Neild left the paper to join city talk 105.9 in the autumn.

    He nows presents a weekday drive-time show as well as a political programme.
