The Cambridge News is looking for a trends/advance content writer to join our team. We are looking for a talented journalist to help us increase our local digital audience from search traffic, making the News the go to place for people living, working, and spending time in Cambridge.
You will be able to generate story ideas, write them with our digital audience in mind, create and curate further multi-media content, put together total content packages that work brilliantly on all of our platforms, and use social media to get our stories to as many people as possible and engage with them.
Other tasks will include:
- Generate planned content which increases local digital audience from search
- Respond to specific searches by creating user-focused content reactively
- Use search engine analytics to identify when to create content around specific keywords
- Respond to and publish viral stories quickly and accurately
- Track major breaking stories in a fast-paced digital environment
- Provide to-the-minute audience feedback and content ideas
- Maximise opportunities for audience engagement and interaction
