Trainee & junior reporters
|Employment Type:||Full time|
Are you an ambitious and committed journalist looking for a first newsroom position? Archant’s award-winning Weston Mercury has a rare vacancy for a trainee reporter.
Located just south of Bristol in Weston-super-Mare – sharing a newsroom with sister title the North Somerset Times – the Mercury covers an area including much of North Somerset, including Weston-super-Mare, Burnham-on-Sea and Cheddar.
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic reporter to join the team. NCTJ preliminary qualifications – including 100wpm shorthand – and a driving licence are essential, while a knowledge of the patch would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for community life, a desire to get to the heart of patch issues and a keen eye for detail; all alongside the ability to produce exclusive and accurate multi-media news and feature content to engage print and online audiences.
To apply, send your CV and covering letter to Archant’s Somerset editor Simon Angear via email@example.com or to Weston Mercury, 32 Waterloo Street, Weston-super-Mare, BS23 1LW by September 27.
Please mention HoldtheFrontPage when applying for this role. This advert will expire on Wednesday 27th September 2017.
