Newsquest Somerset is looking for a trainee reporters working across a series of weekly titles in the South West.
The four-title series – including the County Gazette – covers a patch in Somerset stretching from the stunning coastline at Minehead and Exmoor to the county town of Taunton, to Chard, Bridgwater and Burnham-on-Sea, with the likes of the Glastonbury Festival and the new Hinkley Point C nuclear power station development on the doorstep, so we are keen to hear from a reporter keen to get to the heart of the community and cover the stories that matter.
You will be happy writing about anything and everything and brimming with ideas of how we can best offer our content to readers both in print and in the world of multimedia, as well as finding exceptional off-diary exclusives.
Applicants will ideally be NCTJ qualified, including 100 wpm shorthand, with the desire to make their mark at an exciting time for the region and our print and online publications.
