Trainee & junior reporters
|Employment Type:||Full time|
The Dorset is looking for a talented trainee multi-media reporter to join its award-winning team.
We are looking for someone who is motivated to produce compelling copy in print and online.
No two days are the same in our busy newsroom based in one of the most beautiful parts of the country.
The successful candidate will be writing for the paper and also required to break news online, interact with readers on social media and be bursting with ideas.
We are looking for someone who works quickly and accurately under pressure, is able to bring in his or her own stories and is eager to get on in the world of journalism.
We take training seriously at the Dorset Echo and three of our former trainees have each gained their first editorships this year.
We expect candidates to have an NCTJ-accredited journalism qualification, including shorthand, a great attitude, an ability to spot a story buried in a bland press release and the ability to work well under pressure.
A clean driving licence and your own car are required for this role.
If you think you have what it takes please email the editor, Diarmuid MacDonagh at firstname.lastname@example.org or write to
Diarmuid MacDonagh, Dorset Echo, Fleet House, Hampshire Road, Weymouth, Dorset, DT4 9XD.
The closing date is June 16.
Please mention HoldtheFrontPage when applying for this role. This advert will expire on Friday 16th June 2017.
