Our graduates work for organisations such as the BBC, Sky, national newspapers, magazines, media and corporate communications and for a range of new digital media companies.

Applications are invited for a Lecturer in Multimedia Journalism to contribute to the academic development, course management, teaching, research, development and scholarship within the School in the area of multimedia journalism in general, with specific focus on broadcast, technical, digital and social media skills.

The successful applicant will have recent employment at a senior level in a broadcast newsroom, along with experience of broadcast and online operations, their workflows and requirements. Additionally, you will have either experience of teaching in a higher education environment or substantial industry experience in an editorial role, along with experience of location filming using professional standard equipment, video/picture editing expertise using professional software/hardware systems and producing content across multiple platforms.

Educated to first degree or have equivalent professional qualification, the successful applicant will also have a postgraduate qualification or equivalent standard of professional experience. Ideally, the successful candidate will either have a formal teaching qualification or be a Registered Practitioner of Higher Education Academy or willingness to work towards this. With excellent presentation and communication skills, the successful applicant will have good IT skills and a flexible and innovative approach to teaching and learning.
