The South East and Cambridge sport print team, which produces the sports pages for a number of Trinity Mirror titles across the South East, are looking for a content manager to be based in Cambridge.
Reporting to the Head of Sport (Print), you will be responsible for the production of sports pages for a number of print titles.
The role will particularly focus on producing pages for the daily Cambridge News, but you will also be required to work on weekly titles across the South East (Hertfordshire, Essex, Kent & Surrey), particularly to cover for holidays.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Working with the content writers to plan the content for the titles.
- Designing sports pages for the various titles.
- Subbing copy, including rewriting and editing of submitted copy.
- Proofreading finished pages.
- Covering for the other content managers for holidays and sickness.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced page designer and copy sub, ideally with previous sportdesk experience, although we will consider candidates wanting to switch to sport from news.
You will be confident and ready to hit the ground running as part of a busy team.
You will be efficient and able to cope with a large workload and tight deadlines.
You will have a passion for sport and good knowledge of a broad range of sports.
You will be flexible and prepared to work evenings and Sundays as required.
You will have knowledge of both Tera and Adobe InDesign software or a proven track record of learning to use new systems quickly.
