Local World as part of Trinity Mirror Group is looking for a talented journalist to join its team working for the Croydon Advertiser and Surrey Mirror, and their websites.
We are looking for a motivated and talented candidate with a sharp news sense, a great attitude and the ability to manage and inspire a team.
You may be a gifted reporter looking to progress to the next stage of your career. Or you may already be an experienced content editor (or equivalent) who fancies the challenge of covering one of Britain’s best and busiest news patches. Our recent coverage of the Croydon tram disaster has won widespread praise, and this is the standard of journalism that we aim for on a daily basis.
Reporting to the editor, you will become part of our content editing team who are responsible for running two websites while also putting out four weekly newspapers.
You will create and edit an array of content and we need someone with the ability to work quickly and accurately even when under pressure.
This is an exciting and challenging role where the successful candidate will become part of a newsroom which is full of talent.

You’ll have an NCTJ-accredited journalism qualification and will use it to generate content which engages local audiences and meets the standards set by the business in terms of quality, consistency, accuracy and legal compliance. The role would be suitable for a senior reporter looking for a newsdesk role or an established member of a newsdesk looking for a new challenge.
