Gazette reporter solves mystery of 'rival newspaper'

Staff from the Thame Gazette had to look twice when they realised a rival newspaper had muscled in on their patch.

Reporters at the Johnston Press-owned Oxfordshire weekly could have been forgiven for wondering how they missed the new competitor setting up shop in the town's High Street.

But the office was plain for all to see - The Causton Advertiser's base had opened for business next to the town hall.

But on further investigaton the paper found that the shop was merely a film set for hit TV series Midsomer Murders, which is using the town as a backdrop for its latest batch of grisly goings-on.

Crews are currently filming episode eight of series 10, Last Year's Model, there.

It is due to be aired on ITV later this year.
