Friday Funnies: Perils of misplaced photos

We thought the press and media were all 'Friday Funnied' out.....but no, the hits keep coming to HoldtheFrontPage HQ. In what must be a record for HTFP, we are able to bring you a fourth consecutive week of howlers that have somehow made it into the media.

And it seems the volume of Friday Funnies is having such an effect on our readers that it even moved one person to comment about them under an unrelated story. Check out FAST WOMAN'S posting under this story.

Thanks for thinking of us and keep them coming to: editor.htfp@and.co.uk

The peril of the misplaced photo is a common occurrence on websites but thankfully it's usually an easy fix. That's as long as you spot it before someone takes a screen grab and sends it to well-known political blogger Iain Dale:

And we thought MPs fiddling their expenses was criminal. Needless to say, it isn't on the Metro's website anymore. We hear the children's secretary was not amused by the 'Balls' up either.

PR and news agencies differ little in their attempts to grab journalists' attention when wishing to plug their services. So over to Graeme Whitfield, of Newcastle daily The Journal, for this recent startling entry on his blog:

And we thought this kind of thing was the preserve of chickens and 'gentlemen's clubs'.

On a similar theme, here's another headline centred around things, ahem, down below (from the Sunday Mercury):

ATM-tion. It's a second consecutive entry from Warwickshire Police's online crime alert service. Readers' thoughts will no doubt be with the traumatised cash machine, which we hear will be back at work once it's readies.

Thanks for the 'promo',http. The result is that I was emailed with a funny today from a mate on the nationals. OK, this is a regional site, but I just have to share this from the Dear Rachel agony aunt advice lines on The People's website, suggesting one of the webbies got over-excited while 'uploading'. And, NO, I haven't dialled the numbers. Here we go: MASTERBURBATION: 0901 609 2015 (60p per min UK) 1550 501 486 (¬0.95c per min RoI) FEMALE ORGANISM: 0901 609 2018 (60p per min UK) 1550 501 489 (¬0.95c per min RoI)
