It has been a few weeks since we brought you some hilarity from the press and media but at least the sun's been out. Thankfully, we've now got a bumper selection for you, starting today followed by another helping next Friday.

May we begin with some typical schoolboy humour, inspired by this headline from the BBC. It's almost as if the writer penned this one with us in mind:

Apparently, it made the chick's eyes water!!! (The BBC has since changed this headline to something.....well, less funny frankly).

"Pick your battles wisely!" your old gran would say as you fell out with your mate next door about who had the best Tonka truck.

And it seems Leicester Mercury acting editor Keith Perch acknowledged exactly this fact recently in a blog post about an MPs' expenses story the paper ran:
